Aims and Objectives

To popularize Planetary Science, Solar Physics and Astrophysical Science among children, students and the general public. To conduct short courses on Planetary Science, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Solar Physics, History of Science, Geography and allied subjects for students of schools and colleges and for teachers and researchers.

To undertake publication of science journal, research findings and a science newsletters. To publish books on astronomy, science and allied subjects. To arrange conferences, symposia, seminars and workshops on science and astronomy-astrophysics.To carry out research in astronomy-astrophysics, planetary system and solar physics and other allied subjects. To felicitate scientists, science-writers, science popularizers and researchers and other eminent personalities and scholars.

To run a planetarium, science centre, science Park and Observatories and undertake in all manners scientific, astronomical and cultural activities. To set up a research centre to study planetary science and astronomy from ancient Indian treatises, archaeological and historical material and trace the history of science and astronomy. To encourage the making of science and astronomical models and teaching aids. To popularize the importance of computers in astronomy. To give direction and vision to young minds and nurture them, thereby helping them to realize their dreams.
